How to Show Open Tabs Using BetterTouchTool

Last Updated on

Mate Kele asked in a comment: “Can someone tell me how can I add a gesture for safari show all tabs with better touch tool?”

This is a great question about BetterTouchTool (BTT), because the answer to the question illustrates how I create dozens of BTT actions for menu bar items for all my most used applications.

The following 2-minute video explains how to create the BTT action step-by-step. (Note: change the settings of video to HD for better quality viewing.)

The more you start using BetterTouchTool, the more you’ll realize that how much time and effort you save using finger gestures instead of remembering and typing keyboard shortcuts or dragging your cursor to the menu bar.

You can download a trial version of BetterTouchTool, or select from one of several donation prices for the applications.

I write about BTT so much, because I recommend it as one of the three applications to get started with for Mac automating. The other two applications I recommend getting started with is TextExpander, or a similar text expansion application, and the text selection application, PopClip. Do you have a Mac automation question? Send me your question here, and if it’s a question and answer that might useful to other readers, I’ll post it in this column.
