I thank you so much for you emails on shortcuts. How can you put a list in alphabetical order with KM? I would appreciate your suggestions.
Though Keyboard Maestro includes an action for formatting text, it can’t, as far as I can tell, alphabetize a list of items. But the nifty application, PopClip certainly can.
PopClip can perform dozens of actions on selected text without requiring keyboard shortcuts or selecting menu items. Let’s take a look at the sort list action:
See how easy that is? It can also sort a list of numbers or items preceded by numbers.
PopClip has a boat load of extensions to choose from, for formatting text (title case, uppercase, brackets, underscore), searching content, exporting text to other applications and websites, including Alfred and LaunchBar, Google Translate, YouTube, Amazon, Fantastical, and much more.
PopClip offers a free trial download, and is $6.99 in the Mac App Store.
And the cool thing about PopClip is that your imported extensions are available at your fingertips, so that you don’t have to do any extra typing to trigger extensions.
Here’s another article about PopClip that provides an example of what it can do.
